my friends and I are coming to the windy city for the Chicago Marathon in October. We've never been there before and are taking a long weekend to explore your city. What do you recommend for us, restaurants, bars, sites, etc....

Tue, August 29, 2006 - 10:16 PMwww.metromix.com can tell you where some of the local hot spots are in chicago as far as restaurants and bars...id suggest the downtown area and near north side for the really awesome places. Tavern on Rush is a nice restaurant (a bit on the pricy side though).
definitely hit up millennium park and the sears tower if you can...the magnificent mile (downtown) or woodfield mall (in schaumberg) if you like shopping
